The reef located at the foot of the Akassia hotel is a drop off more than 50 meters deep, which is not common in the Marsa Alam region.
It is covered with hard coral and soft coral, and there is a small cave in the 30 meter area. You will find reef fauna there, and also remember to look out into the blue because you will regularly see eagle rays, turtles, napoleons, trevallies, barracudas and occasionally a whale shark.
In addition, the hotel being very large, there are two pontoons: one to the north of the beach and one to the south. You can therefore dive around each pontoon, or perform drift dives between the two pontoons which are 400 meters apart.
Finally, important thing, you can dive with us all year round. If the weather conditions do not allow diving on the wall, we offer a free transfer for our divers to Maheleg (our alternative housereef) 1 km further south. Maheleg Bay is also equipped with a jetty from which you can dive to north and south. On the return of the north Diving, take time on the beautiful sand plateau which is located at the corner of the bay at 12 meters to look for octopus, stone fish and observe the old pottery.
It is also Maheleg where our boat leaves for day and half day excursions.
